Hamed Rudlavari (Derakht), founder of the Avayelotus art group, became acquainted with the Lakota flute in 2017 while he was spending a period of introspection in a forest hut At that time, this instrument was almost unknown in Iran, and this acquaintance was made by one of his friends who had ordered this flute from North America. Derakh (means tree), who received his artistic name from an old tree on a spiritual and inner journey, after becoming acquainted with this flute, changed his specialized instrument from the duduk (an ancient flute related to the musical culture of the Caucasus and northern Zagros) to the Lakota flute and began to explore and examine its various aspects.
Given that this instrument was unknown in Iran, he contacted teachers of this instrument abroad through the virtual world to access correct training that was in line with the ancient spirit and meditation of the Lakota people and began to learn its specialty. The presence of this instrument during that period of solitude also A choice in the forest provided him with an opportunity to delve deeply into the spiritual aspects of this instrument, which was in line with its improvisational spirit. Later, this different perspective was reflected in his training courses and teaching methods, which were in line with the ancient methods of the masters who played Lakota flute.
Avayelotus art group
The Avayelotus art group was founded in the spring of 2019 with the aim of making, teaching, and introducing the Lakota flute , and later other products such as the Shamanic Drum and Didgeridoo were added to it.
The Avayelotus brand entered the field of making and teaching this therapeutic instrument with a meditative look at the Lakota Indian flute, and from the very beginning, it tried to develop methods of making and teaching appropriate to this ancient instrument, according to the teachings of the North Indians, and to use as much as possible the methods of its original makers, the North American Indians, in making, teaching, and introducing it.
These efforts have resulted in the production of high-quality Lakota flutes made with environmentally friendly raw materials and adhering to the ancient method of making this instrument. These flutes are offered to Lakota flute enthusiasts around the world in all their tunings and models (single, double, triple). We have also succeeded in providing a training package that is a complete course that is in keeping with the simple and meditative spirit of this instrument, by eliminating the additional complications and complexities that have become common in Lakota flute training and providing practical and complete training to enthusiasts of this instrument.
